Randy Rhoads Remembered success brings more fun to the masses!!

Randy Rhoads Remembered organizers Brian Tichy, Joe Sutton, Brent Woods, Kelle Rhoads and the Rhoads family, whom together form the nucleus of the Randy Rhoads Remembered concert that took place on Saturday Jan. 25th, 2014 during the NAMM convention have decided to give the people more of what they want!

Since receiving stellar reviews and feedback from the press, the fans, and the artists involved, it was agreed to take the RRR show a step further... on the road!  Not only that, they've decided to record a tribute style "thank you" album; not only to honor guitar legend Randy Rhoads,  but to also show appreciation to all the amazing artists that took time to be part of the first RRR event in Randy’s honor!

The record, titled "Randy Rhoads Remembered - Volume I: Thank You" is being recorded as we write.  The album will feature many of the players that performed during the January event, including Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme/Rihanna), Michael Devin (Whitesnake), Brad Gillis (Night Ranger/Ozzy Osbourne), Tracii Guns, Stephen LeBlanc (Jason Bonham's Led Zep Exp.), Ray Luzier (Korn), Kiko Louriero (Angra), Robert Mason (Warrant/Lynch Mob), Kelle Rhoads, Phil Soussan (Ozzy Osbourne/Billy Idol/Big Noize), Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (GN'R), Brian Tichy, Chas West (Bonham/Lynch Mob/Diamond Head/The Moby Dicks), Brent Woods (Vince Neil/Sebastian Bach/The Moby Dicks),  Phil X (The Drills/Bon Jovi). Several others that wanted to partake but were unavailable will be announced soon!

On top of all this, RRR Vol. I will include 2 bonus tracks of Kelle Rhoads' new classical piano record produced by Brent Woods as well as a "Live At Musonia School Of Music" version of the DEE GUITAR ORCHESTRA closing the record just like they closed RRR with as many guitarists who can make the session playing "Dee," Randy's classical guitar piece!! This performance  tore the roof down and will be sure to once again be the indisputably perfect way to end a record in honor of Randy and to show his worldwide, timeless influence!

Brian Tichy has finished most of the drum tracks for Volume I, with Korn's "Lightnin'" Ray Luzier adding his fire power to "No Bone Movies," the song he played at RRR when Tichy jumped on guitar! (See footage of the recording session and how well drummers work together! LOL!) And, tracks have already been recorded by many of the show's guitar gods!
We spoke with Tichy while he was in the middle of tracking "Suicide Solution (Live '82 "Gillisized" Version) and he had this to say:

"After 5 months of preperations toward RRR, and getting into rehearsal mode, where I witnessed some of the world's greatest guitarists take time out of their ultra-busy schedules and throw down amazing versions of timeless music we all grew up on, the idea to capture this on record came to me as clear as day! I cannot say this without mentioning the extreme talents of all the special guests as well as the mighty house band "The Madmen." Haha, yes I am the drummer so I guess I am tooting my own horn, but man, do I love playing every track off of Blizzard Of Ozz and Diary Of A Madman. I cut my teeth on those LPs for years when they came out! Drums and guitar!

Anyhow, I wanted to give the participating artists a chance to lay down a version of their chosen RRR song with consideration to the fact that the live show is a one time only affair. Meaning, we all get one chance only to do the best live version possible, but not without the plethora of potential potholes that are always a factor when performing on foreign gear with a band you've only rehearsed with for one hour! When you think of it like that, and consider that the audience expects the best and is not factoring that into the equation, you gotta give it up even harder to the sheer badassery harnessed on January 25th, 2014 by over 30 musicians!  When put like that, a "Thank You" record is the least I can do to show how appreciative I am of the union of mightiness and full blown camaraderie for a pretty cool idea I had; an idea that obviously resonated with all fans whether they be guitar heroes or non-musicians that love Randy Rhoads and the music he wrote! This kind of record has never been done before so I am excited to get it out!! You gotta hear the tones and performances of these guitar gods! What's already been tracked is so badass!

I've come to realize shows like Bonzo Bash and RRR really get heavy and spiritual as the music and celebration at hand take all involved back collectively to what I like to describe as the most pure a musician is... back when they are in their formative learning stages, listening to things for the first time, prior to the pressures and responsibilities of being an adult; back when the music put you in a dream-state mindset and your sense of reality and time became nil.  This is what these shows do to me. I could not put them on without that feeling being the undercurrent. I feel it’s safe to say if you ask the others in RRR that I am not alone!

So with that, you can get a closer inside look at how seriously RRR was taken and why we are moving forward with a "Thank You" record!

When asked about the tour, Tichy stated, "Yeah, that was pretty immediate. Promoters and agents expressed interest that night. I love it! I get to play drums all night!  We will take fewer guitarists on tour but now they all get to play more tunes! I think this could be very easy. If one guitarist has to leave the tour for other commitments, a new available guitarist can join us on the road!”

RRR Vol. I will be recorded, mixed and produced by Tichy and Brent Woods at their respective studios. RRR Vol. I is scheduled to be release in May of 2014. It will feature 10 or more of Randy’s classic songs with bonus tracks as well.

Coinciding with the release, RRR will throw a record release party/full length concert at House Of Blues in Los Angeles in May, then take off on a US tour starting on the East Coast late May & June of 2014 followed by South American, European and Japan runs. RRR will also do an encore show during the 2015 NAMM convention.

So, get ready for The Randy Rhoads Remembered concert experience to be coming to a town near you, and make sure to keep your eyes & ears out for the new album.
